Welcome to the Royal Texans Blog

The Royal Texans blog is all about our family and the people we love. It's a little crazy being a Mommy of two lil' guys, but I eventually post everything so check back often for updates on Oliver and Miles!

Oliver goes to work with Daddy

Oliver has been talking about going to work with Daddy FOREVER! So this week, Clayton set aside a couple of hours, and Oliver came to work with him. Oliver was so excited! You can't tell in this picture, but Oliver has his back pack on filled with things to keep him occupied. He was so excited!

When he got home, he told me "Daddy talks on the phone a lot!". :)

It's still cold out...

It is still cold outside, so places that don't see the sun very much still have ice/snow. Oliver wanted at least one more opportunity to use his new snow shovel (thanks again Robynn), so we bundled up and went out to play while Miles took his morning nap.

Here we are all bundled up. My hair was in a high ponytail under my hat, so I look like a bit of a conehead here! :)

Later that day, Miles got to try on his new shoes (he loves seeing the light and shadows coming in through the window on the carpet)

he notices them for the first time, hey what are these?

I LOVE pediped shoes!

the cutest thing for babies! :)

going for light again!

Oliver used our desk and his cones to make his own home, he even had a door made out of a towel!

Military Crawl

Before we get to the military crawl, I had to post these pictures of my boys sleeping. I don't know why, but I just LOVE pictures of them sleeping! :) Oliver must have been really tired this week (maybe from his sunburn?), as two of his rest times became nap times!

You can't drive your car with your feet up silly! :)

Both of my boys have used this military crawl before they actually crawled on hands and knees. To both their credit, I pulled them both back on the blankets until I just couldn't keep them any longer. I think had I not kept placing them both on a blanket they might have crawled hands and knees much sooner. But we finally had our carpets cleaned and now he can go as much as he wants! Watch this video to see Miles crawling the morning after our carpets were cleaned. He is a little shy because he had never been encouraged to crawl before. Go Miles!

Hooray, you made it! :)

Snow Day -- Feb 05, 2011

Got snow? We do, or at least we will until the sun melts it all today. Today was a perfect day for playing in the snow. Oliver & Daddy were out there for around six hours and we had to change Oliver's shoes two times, but they loved it!

The tallest snowman ever! The snow had already melted significantly by around 1 pm.

Miles and I joined these guys in the park for a little while

Oliver using the snow shovel cousin Robynn gave him to knock crush up a snowball

How my cute boy wore his hat!

In the shade you will find Ice City made by Daddy & Oliver out of the icicles from our house

So you would think on a beautiful day like this, even though there is snow, your parents would remember sunscreen, right? Nope. Oliver was outside for six hours in the sun without sunscreen. And we found these red cheeks at dinner and thought oh no, sunburn! Yep, my big boy has his first sunburn. So sad.

Here are Oliver & Miles with their zoo souvenirs from our last visit. Oliver LOVES zebras so I had to get these!

According to Oliver, today Feb. 5, is Zebra Zoo's birthday. Happy Birthday Zebra Zoo, we hope you liked the muffins we made! :)

Grey Man!

If your reading this blog and you don't know my Oliver, watch this video and it will give you a hint of his personality. He is hilarious and will take everything (good or bad) to the extreme. Such a funny little guy!

Watch the video above to learn about grey man

This is grey man, I think he's a superhero, or maybe a villain based on the look on Oliver's face! :)

And after having ice covered streets for the past three days, we now have about eight inches of snow on top of our ice covered streets. It sure looks pretty, but its a dangerous combination. We have been stuck in the house all week, and it looks like we are still not going anywhere!

Old habits die hard!

I went in at the end of Oliver's rest time and I found this:

He was sleeping sideways in his big boy bed just like it was his crib.

He wasn't very happy about Miles and I waking him up! :)

We have a big boy bed!

Hooray, Oliver has a big boy bed!

This last picture is right before he went to sleep and he did great! He loved it and having trains on it just makes it that much better for him! (I'm writing this 20 days after and he still calls me and asks to wake up every morning and has never got out of bed once, at least not that I know of! )
